Chris Cagle Debuts at #1 On Billboard’s Top Country Albums
Chris Cagle hit a milestone in his career today when his self-titled sophomore album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Today, the Capitol Records Nashville staff threw a surprise luncheon to congratulate Cagle and celebrate his success. As expected, Chris was quite emotional. He said, “For the rest of my life I will be able to say, ‘I had an album that debuted at #1.’ That alone is gratifying, but to know that all of my fans were so anxiously awaiting new music from me is the greatest feeling. We did in-stores last week in Dallas and Houston and last night we were in the Nashville market. I know that spending time with my fans at these in-stores and performing for them had a huge impact on my first week sales and I, once again, am very thankful to my fans for making such a difference in my career.”
“The really successful artists know their fans and work hard to maintain that relationship,” says Mike Dungan, President and CEO of Capitol Records Nashville. “With each step, in every thing he does, Cagle has kept his focus on the fans. We are so proud to be his partner at the top!”
When asked about Cagle’s first week success, Bill Kennedy, V.P. of Sales, commented, “It's always a tremendous feeling to debut at #1. It certainly adds to his growing list of accomplishments.”
“What A Beautiful Day,” the first single from Chris Cagle is currently #9 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart and #9 on R&R’s Country Top 50 chart.
