Ok, I am a new Cagle fan, I just started listening to country. But, does anyone know if the song Laredo is about the city Laredo? I love all of Chris' songs, but Laredo has puzzled my brain because I couldn't figure out why anyone would ask their friend Laredo to get his woman back for him. But when I looked Laredo up on the internet, I came up with Laredo Tx. This makes more sense to me. I know this is sort of strange analising a song to death, but I just couldn't like the song cuz I didn't know what it was about. Ok, I am probably weird. But it was fun saying hi to ya'all from Washington state. :)

Yes Tammy, the song is about the city Laredo. He wants the girl top remember all the good times they had there and to keep her from leaving the city so he can still try to get her back. At least that is my analyzation of it.

Welcome to our little e-village on the net.

wooohooo! Another Washington fan - did ya see that Stacy!?? :D

And, I thought that when he wrote this song...he was driving around one day for inspiration on his writing, and the idea hit him, so he pulled of the freeway on the next exit, turned around and went home to finish writing down what he'd just thought of...?

Thank you, I feel so welcome!!! Now how do we get Chris to come to Washington???!! He is such a great musician! I like trying to figure out how a musician writes their songs. I read that Chris writes most of his own songs, and I figure there is just tooooo much loving and living in his alblum to have done it all, so driving around Laredo Tx for inspiration sounds like a real deal for the song. Of course I could just live a really boring life and he maybe doesn't, and he could have lived and loved that much AND wrote the songs about it! :~) His singin is sure not boring thats for sure. Anyways, this is fun talking to ya'all. See ya around.

Actually, I don't know if it was Laredo, Tx or the chevy...but he did put 200 miles on his truck that day, 'cause he wasn't going home until he got an idea! lol

Tammy~ I have seen on Pollstar that Chris will be at the Central Washington Fair in Yakima 9/27. There should be some information posted soon on the fair's website www.fairfun.com. I got an email that said they usually post their fair lineup the 3rd week of June.

i've heard that he was driving around thinking about all the great song writers and what do they have a song about but a city, when he saw a sign for Laredo. so that's how he got it. has anyone heard the story about My Love Goes On and On? that he was driving home from somewhere (don't remember specifics other than a long trip) and he really had to go #1 but he didn't want to stop till he got home so when he got home he ran through the front door, ran past his roommate sitting on the couch right into the bathroom. and did his business longer than the energizer bunny comercial was on the tv. so his roommate said something about him just going and going. and chris sang "on and on and on" his roommate told him that was good you should remember that for a song someday. and now we have "My Love Goes ON AND ON" an inspiration not about love at all. think about that the next time you hear it and try not to smile! i know since i heard it i haven't been able to. sorry that was so long but since we were talking about songs and the inspiration behind them some of you might enjoy that.

ok, you all are great. I figured when I first went on line to figure out the whole "what does Laredo mean" dilema out, that I would find out some secret mexican meaning or something. When the number one internet hit was laredo texas, it started making more sense. I have totally enjoyed talking to ya'al, but now I have to come up with another thought that will get you all to write back to me again. That was fun!!!!!! I am still trying to figure out how to get to Chris' concert in Washington state, I live by Seattle and don't want to drive across the desert(sp?) part of Washington to get there. Maybe he will come to Seattle yet later in the year. Of course I would drive if my car would make it but it is a funky little for d T-Bird with a mind of it's own, so no gaurantees! Well thanks for all the thoughts!
