I just got back from the Oxnard, CA concert that Chris performed wonderfully at, and I had a question for those of you w/close connections to Chris' team or those who know. First, let me start by saying that Chris' show was awesome!! Unfortunately, he faced the same dilemma in Oxnard that he had at the other venue...he wanted people to stand, and mgmt wanted people to sit. Guess who won? CHRIS!!! YAHOOOO! But, during the show, he said that he would sign autographs and pose for pics after the show for anyone who wanted them!!! That was an awfully sweet thing to say, so my friend and I decided to take him up on it. I haven't joined the Fan Club yet (naughty me), so I thought this was my choice for a great photo op!!! So, after a 40 min wait at the end of the show, it was our turn. Now, all I wanted was a pic of Chris.....that's it. So, as I started to take it, his road mgr came up and said no pics--only autographs because Chris didn't have time to pose for pics....now, during that time he told me that, Chris was standing there...obviously, during that time he was standing there, I could have had my close-up and then be done!!! So, my friend and I left w/nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I can handle not getting the pic even after waiting 40 mins. But, what added insult to injury was the fact that the people BEFORE me took his pic, and the people AFTER me took his pic, but for some reason I was prohibited from doing so!!!!!!!!!! Chris lost a fan in my friend. She was very saddened that his manager would not let us take a pic (2 autographs would have taken LONGER)....but allow people before and after us to do so. I am a little upset by the treatment, but enjoyed Chris' performance so much that I will get over it. However, since it just occurred, my question to you who know is this: Why do you think his mgr was so rude to us??? I can honestly say that all we did was walk up to the table, I walked back to take the pic, and his mgr stopped me. He said "no pics"...I said ok and walked away. For those experienced meet'n'greeters, why do you think we were treated this way? Please someone respond with your opinions!!!!! Thank you--hopefully, it will make me feel better!!! -Eleanor-

I don't know who his RM is now, but from my experiences in the past....

I love Chris to death, but his RM's weren't the nicest people in the World. The guy who was there in Hillsboro last July 6th seemed okay, but Brett or Timmy or whoever it was later that month was RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! But, if I had to deal with what he was dealing with that day, I probably would not have been a happy camper either.

Just tell your friend, it's not what the RM does, it's what Chris does that should bring her to like Chris. Don't let her lose her faith!!

Elanor, you may have to wait a few days to get a response from the girls, I believe they are in Vegas as I write this..or on their way.

Chris didn't say anything? That seems odd to me. I have been to two concerts and had 1 M&G before the concert, so I am no where close to being a good contact for this, but that does seem odd that Chris didn't let you take the pic. Maybe an off night? Who knows. I can say that I would ask your friend to give him another shot. His RMs can be rude, but look at what they have to put up with...venue management, getting Chris where he needs to be on time, the big management breathing down the neck at times, etc. LOL I'm sure he can get stressed too. But that was no excuse for them letting others take pics and not you.

Meghan and Salsamaker--thank you for your responses. It helps me to know that his RM's have been rude to others in the past!!! Isn't that sad? This was a guy with short sandy blonde/brownish hair, looked about 28+ years old.... I think someone told me it was his NEW RM??? And, yes, Chris was just standing there. My friend who was standing by him, said he seemed confused as to what was going on, so I don't fault him. Well, as I said, it was a wonderful concert, but unfortunate that the last thing I experienced was this. Maybe I'll have my chance at some other venue.!!! Thanks guys for making me feel better!!!!

Hey Eleanor!

Well, I am deeply sorry that happened to you. :-( I am sure if Chris would of known about this, he would of said something. Anyways, please tell your friend to not blame Chris over this but blame the person who told this to you. Chris wants all his fans to have the chance to get pictures, get autographs, and to take pictures...he doesn't want to prohibit it by any means.

The only thing I could think of is this guy was trying to get Chris out of there asap...Chris is the only artist I know that will sign autographs for all the fans until the last person gets one (he is the only artist I have ever seen do this since garth).

What I suggest to do is this...Call up Chris' management company and ask them to see what might of been the reason behind this situation and see what they say. But in doing this, please remember to be polite and suttle about it because they are the ones at fault. They may not even have known this happened so, see what they say and be sure to let me know ok?

I hope that helps...Chris loves his fans and doesn't like these things to happen...Take care!

Kimmy

I'M HERE! I'M HERE!!!!! Brought my trusty laptop with me!!

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you and your friend. Like Kimmy said, most times Chris isn't even aware that things happen. And unfortunately so many times it's not brought to his attention. I am in Vegas as Salsa mentioned (with April, WendyC, Utah, Leigh Ann, Keri, ........ the list is lonnggggggggggg!), but I will be seeing Chris shortly. So I will mention it to him. I'm sure he will be saddened but he trusts that his road manager will get him out when it's time for him to be somewhere. And I know that they had to drive to San Jose last night. But like I said I will mention it to him.

You should drive out here to Vegas with all of us. This is a SMALL venue and is going to be AWESOME!!!!

You guys are soooo awesome! I wish I could be there in Vegas to meet all you folks too! It would be nice to put a face to the name! I do know they were trying to rush him out, but I guess my point is: in the time that his RM had to tell me to not take a pic....explain that they were trying to rush things through...etc, I would have been WAYYYYYY done! And, to have others doing what I couldn't was the main complaint. I do think Chris should know...especially since he could lose fans by the indiscriminate choices his RM is making!! Ya'all have fun in Vegas!!!!! I wish you all the rockin and rollin that Chris can provide!!! -Eleanor-

I've been lucky enough to attend three M&G's with Chris during the past year. I believe that each time he had a different road manager. I have had nothing, but pleasant experiences. However, I tend to believe that perhaps this incident was a result of logistics and time and that Chris wasn't aware of what was happening. I do know that Chris had a rushed schedule for much of the day leading up to your concert in Oxnard. He called in during the Toys for Tots Drive in Wichita and said he was stuck at the Dallas Airport for six hours with plane delays. He told DJ Dan Holiday, who Chris helped with the toy drive the past two years that he was going to miss part of a video shoot, but would still be able to make the concert. Maybe they had to cut their time real close to try to fit the video shoot back into their schedule. This is just a thought. I know things like this probably happen occasionally as much as they try to keep it from happening. I know that your next Cagle experience will be a better one! ***Linda
