I think that Chris needs better publicty to get himself better known to the masses. You never see him on tv shows other than on CMT. I wish he had a publicy agent or a better prmotion person.

Chris' PR is handled through Holly Gleason Publicity. They handle John Michael Montgomery, Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, Rodney Crowell and Patty Loveless. You can check out the website at www.joesgarage615.com.

I don't know how PR is handled between Capital and Holly Gleason. I do know that artists have complained before about the lack of PR at Capital. I do agree that Chris is not getting the recognition that he deserves...and let's face it, needs to succeed!

I don't think there is anything we can do about this other than spread the word ourselves!

I agree with you too! I know he's relatively a "newcomer", but you need to invest in talent to make it known (Come on Capitol Records)!!! I think Chris is doing what he can to get his name out there--by playing smaller venues everywhere and often (maybe not enough for us)! ;-)

What made Kenny Chesney become soooo super popular this year? Chris has the hit record capability, so I think it has to be more than that!

They really need to start a "street team" like other artists have. I know Rascal Flatts has one - you get prizes (autographed pics, etc) for filling out reports everyday for a week for requesting thier songs or whatever. It's a great idea. I know it's not country, but Nelly has a street team too. It really helps to get the word out. People start listening when someone is so excited about their favorite artist!

Hey Ya'll!

I know what everyone is talking about...Chris does need a better PR team or something to get them seriously motivated. But something I do know Chris has that most new artists doesn't - Chris has his own PR team with his fans! Fans of an artist's music is the best tool in the world if we all can organize our efforts for max. results. We all have already proved that fans motivation to get a song played on the radio stations across the country pays off - lets keep up that effort. Something you might want to use is RateTheMusic.com which is great in getting your voice heard to the radio stations if they use it...it's free which is the best part.

Together as a massive group we can make things happen whether it is getting Chris played on radio, getting his music videos played, getting him on major shows, or getting him better promotion.

I am more than willing to help out with an online street team...lets get this Chris Cagle Fan PR system up and running, what do you think?

Most people outside of Cagleheads have absolutely NO IDEA that Chris has a new song out. That is unacceptable! The label and his managment should be doing more to get the word out. We fans can only do so much before we are labeled fanatics.

I have a little Christmas gift to everyone. I have been traveling in the right circles lately. Anyway I just learned 2 days ago that the group that does the street teams and i-squads will be working with Capitol records after the first of the year. That is great news. The person I have talked to agrees with us about Chris. He is awesome and needs promotion. She said they will start with newsletters on all that are on the Capitol label. Then I think the street teams will begin. I'm looking forward to it. When I hear more I will post. I got to meet Kenny Chesney's promoter Saturday night. I can understand why Kenny has done so well. The guy really believes in Kenny. That is the support they need. Chris already has the best fans, now for the publicity. HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Great news! I mean look at the facts, Chris had three hits songs, including a #1 and a GOLD cd. BUT very few people know who he is. That, again, is unacceptable. Capital needs to get off the pot and get his guy some publicity!

Thanks for the information Mae! That's absolutely great news! It's definitely about time that Chris gets the PR that he deserves and needs! I agree with CagleheadinOR on this one...we can only do so much before DJ's start giving us a bad wrap and it begins to effect Chris!

Let's hope that 2003 is a spectacular year for Chris!

This exact thought has been on my mind. I really think that if Chris had the PR he needs(deserves) he would still be cruisin on top with whatever he chose to release. I do love the song "Beautiful Day", however, if I would of had my way he would still be releasing HITS off of "Play It Loud".

You are so right.I would like to see more of the songs from "Play It Loud" get play time.It will be hard to top that cd.

What Capital should have done after CBTGOG failed at radio was release one more single while Chris was getting the new album ready. That way there would not be very much lag time between hits and the momentum would be still going strong. If CBTGOG had been a hit then I think the new song would be taking off faster or if another single of Play it Loud was released and hit..then the new song would be screaming up the charts.

I totally agree with you on Chris's PR. CBTGOG barely got any air time here in St. Louis. When I found out about the release date on WABD I started emailing and calling our radio stations contstantly. It took about a week before I heard it played. Only one of our stations was playing it every once in a while. However, I haven't heard it played in about three weeks. I read today on the board that the video isn't coming out until mid January. Why is there such a long delay? Wouldn't releasing it now be more helpful for Chris?

I agree TOTALLY !!!! CHRIS NEEDS better PR. HE DESERVES BETTER PR. I'VE BEEN THINKING THE SAME THING FOR AWHILE NOW! I was actually gonna email CAPITAL RECORDS & TELL THEM THEY NEED TO DO MORE PR FOR CHRIS. HE DEFINATELY DOESN'T GET ENOUGH!!

Strategy, strategy.... who's strategy is it to release one song (a long awaited one that took 3 months to get the video out) and it doesn't do well.... so then they release another song months and months and months later (again with video to come later....) I am very disappointed in this the time lapse between Chris Cagle song releases.

I have seen Alan Jackson go from one hit to another to another, one per month or two, more or less. So has Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, etc. Of course these are all better known people but THAT is how they get the song recognition and ALL of the songs become hits.

This one or two song release a year is for the birds! It's killing Chris Cagle's career!!! Someone needs to open their eyes to see what works for other artists cuz what the powers that be are doing for Chris isn't working. WE WANT CHRIS AT #1.

And yes, one more song off Play It Loud should and could have plugged the long gap between the release of CBTGOG and Beautiful Day. CBTGOG was a shot in the dark for a hit. The shot went off course so they should have release a more mainstream tune immediately (there were many on PIL to choose from) instead of making the listening audience wait for months. OKAY, I'M ALL DONE NOW!! LOL

Sharon,

Thanks for the info!

The street team seems like a good idea. I know that I was able to see Chris four times during 2002. Each time, I took someone new--everyone decided to join his fan club!

We'll continue to be along with Chris for the ride! The Cagleheads know he will go far!

Caglehugs from Kansas!

This was kind of what I had in mind when I created Club Cagle. It was mentioned once before that people thought Chris needed more recognition, and I had mentioned the idea of creating a list, to which some people gave some intrest. I was kind of going for a striped down version of what you all have been talking about. However, I see that Chris' management is doing a bigger version of what I had in mind, which is great. I will have to see how, or if, my little tiny list can fit in the middle of what Chris' management has in mind. Liberty

I'm so thrilled this topic came up. We all love him so much and I agree 100% that there was too much time in between hits or just songs getting released. I know it must be really hard to make or find time to make a new CD but alot of the newer artisit have more than one CD out. I'm glad his second one is ready to hit the store's. I'm with Linda at first I introduced my daughter to Chris and she fell so deeply in love that it just was a mom and daughter thing something special for us to do and I looked at it as something my mother never did with me. Then our third concert I started buying more tickets and taking other people I wanted everyone to love him as much as we do. Comstock we took two new people and they love him. Then we only went our-selves to OK. New Years I took 5 new people and two of them signed up for the fan club. This kind of help will work. Sometimes word of mouth will work. Well if it's as big as mine lol. I can feel 2003 to be a big year for him as well as all of us. We have a whole new CD to learn I cant wait. We also need to get some new merchandise out. New T-Shirts and pictures it would also help out to be able to sell things at the concerts and you can only have so many of the same thing. I think his team is going to work real hard for him this year and we can help too.. Keep up the great work and see ya when we get there. I cant wait to meet more of you Cagleheads. We are planning the Fan Fair trip now. Stephanie
