BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - Chris Cagle says if his next album flops and nobody ever wants to see him again, he'll still be a happy man. That's because he's shared the stage with the legendary Willie Nelson.
Cagle was one of more than a dozen artists at last weekend's KZLA Cookout in Anaheim. Cagle says he stayed to watch the headliner, Willie Nelson, and was happy to stand 15 feet to the side of the stage. But when fellow Texan Pat Green got up to sing with Nelson, Willie's tour manager waved Cagle onstage, too.
"Nobody can ever take away I got to sing onstage with Willie Nelson," Cagle said. "I got so excited I had about five beers after that, and I'm a two-beer guy!" Cagle exclaimed. He says he called everybody in his family at three in the morning, saying "I just sang with Willie! I just sang with Willie!"
