I just received an email from Rate The Music that consisted of 2 songs by a gentleman named Jimmy Wayne. The first of which was titled "Are You Ever Gonna Love?". Um.... can you say Chris' song, "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me?" Same lyrics, same sound and everything. Why is someone else singing Chris' music?? Am I missing something, somebody please fill me in!! Thanks a bunch :0)

I didn't get that survey from Rate the music, although I'm signed up, probably a hotmail error knowing how much MSN "loves" me!

Since Chris didn't release that song to radio, as long as he has the permission from the songwriters, publishing company, etc, that guy can release that song. It's basically the same thing that happened with 'I Breathe In, I Breathe Out'. Since David Kersh didn't release the song to radio, Chris was able too.

This happens more often then you think it does. Anthony Smith wrote the song 'John J Blanchard' and Tommy Shane Steiner also put it on his album, but since Anthony Smith has released it to radio, TSS can't. (Anthony Smith wrote that song so he has priority over TSS)

Just a little interesting tid bit of info for any Montgomery Gentry fans....They have a song 'I've loved a lot more than I've hurt' on their 'Tattoos and Scars' CD. This song was originally recorded by Alabama on their 'In Pictures' CD (in 1995 I think)

Basically it's just something that happens. Songwriters get recognition for their songs by having them on the radio. So I'm sure Chris Lindsey, Aimee Mayo and Marv Green were more than happy that this new guy wants to possibly release it.

I wish I had gotten this survey from RateTheMusic... I thought I got all of them, but didn't get this one. Anyway, I have seen Jimmy Wayne at the Bluebird in Nashville and he's a wonderful singer/songwriter. Do any of you happen to have the downloaded songs that were a part of the survey?? I would LOVE to hear them... I've been waiting to hear something recorded from him since I saw him live. I would so appreciate it if any of you happened to save those downloads and could e-mail them to me. Thanks!! :)
